With stunning views Montagne du Luberon famed for art galleries, restaurants, and lavendar fields.
Oppede Le Vieux
Crossing the mighty Rhone, travelling through busy St Remy de
Provence, via the town of Cavaillon,
at last Luberon is reached.
Oppède le Vieux, is the first taste, of the grandeur of this
region, with the
colorful sweep of the Montagne du Luberon as
a background. Oppède is fun to explore,
and climb amongst ruins
and ruins returning to homes, with stunning views.
Dating from
the 12th century, the village boasts a chateau, a church, and
numerous artists, writers and film stars who have bought homes
in the area!
The Montagne du Luberon dance in many colors through the
day;
in the morning and evening its an ever changing panorama.
Viens is especially worth going to see, with its houses
dating from the 13th century well kept medieval houses,
church, chateaux, art galleries, and restaurant.
Its a
good place to start to see the lavender fields, that are
found in plenty in this area.
