Spectacular rock formations in the Pyrenees Orientales, near Perpignan
Take a visit to this unusual but spectacular cliff formation,
near the town of Ille-Sur-Tet. Its only a 20 minute short drive
from Perpignan, and is surrounded by stunning country side,
where there are numerous sights to visit.
The official site with its tourist information office, and path is an easy walk for all ages, from children, to adults. In common with other tourist sites of this nature, the authorities have labelled mediterranean plants along the path, as well as horses and ponies to say hello to! The walk around these eroded striations of clay and rock, is leisurely as well as affording views across the Tet valley.
Whilst in the area visit the Centre for Sacred Art in Ille-sur-Têt, in the 17th century Hospice d'Illa; or take a dizzying drive and walk to the beautiful and isolated Priory of Serrabone.
If you love wine - take a drive through Thuir to Terrats and sample excellent muscat sec wines from the Vignerons de Terrats - Terrassous, with distinctive plastic green corks!
