Palais de la Berbie, Albi

This is for all those who can't make the South of France this Summer and are planning for something to do in the cold months of January, February, March, when all the cheap airfares are offered. Albi is a great place to visit year round, and although you might want to bundle up a bit, its relatively mild, and beautiful. Here is the Lautrec Museum, which looks over the river – a museum that is a must to visit. See more about Albi, UNESCO world heritage site.

Vines, near Paraza and Canal du Midi

This is the time of year when the roads are busy with small tractors pulling loads of grapes to the cooperative or domaine. Vignerons busy on machines, shaped like hungry monsters, snapping up the red and the white between their jaws. Vignerons bending over picking grapes by hand, and tossing them into baskets. The smell of crushed grapes wafting across villages and across the countryside of France.
