Poetry walks in Languedoc -
Poems by Giles 'Denmark' Mitchell

capitelle, languedoc, france

Guardian of sheep
Slept the night
Stars bright

Cave of man
Wood smoke
Baas of lambs

Winds of silence
Almond blossom
Hill meets heaven

It is interesting the word shepherd in Latin is Pastor.

(There are many capitelles, or sheperd dwellings
in the hills of the Minervois, and St Chinian.
Perhaps they are the first homes after living in caves,
perhaps they are relics of an ancient religion).
